Matthew 24:6-8
"You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. Make sure that you
are not alarmed, for this must happen, but the end is still to come. 24:7 For
nation will rise up in arms against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And
there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 24:8 All these things
are the beginning of birth pains."
JUST READ THE HEADLINES AND YOU WILL
HEAR OF WARS AND RUMORS OF WARS! VERSE 8 SAYS THESE ARE BIRTH PAINS, THE GREEK
WORD "ODIN" WHICH MEANS - intolerable anguish, in reference to the dire
calamities which precedes the advent of the Messiah.
As the times draw
near, birth pains become stronger and more frequent....
PRAY &
PREPARE
Are you prepared for crisis? Has your Faith & Family been
strengthened to endure hard times?
Jesus himself and other biblical
accounts gives us enough warning through biblical history to be prepared. Noah
filled the Ark with supplies as God commanded. The Egyptians went through a
seven year drought and stored enough food as foretold in a dream which the
Pharoh had and was interpreted by Joseph. Jesus tells us to prepare for his
second coming and all of the signs to watch for.
Being prepared is
better than not. Storing away supplies for future hard times is a wise idea. We
believe that God does supply all of our needs, and that God gives us advance
warnings to prepare.
BEING LED BY THE SPIRIT IS VERY IMPORTANT, HE WILL
WARN US OF THINGS TO COME SO THAT WE WILL BE PREPARED AND COLLECT TO HELP
OTHERS....
Famine Relief for Judea
Acts 11:27-30 (MSG)
27-30 It
was about this same time that some prophets came to Antioch from Jerusalem. One
of them named Agabus stood up one day and, prompted by the Spirit, warned that a
severe famine was about to devastate the country. (The famine eventually came
during the rule of Claudius.) So the disciples decided that each of them would
send whatever they could to their fellow Christians in Judea to help out. They
sent Barnabas and Saul to deliver the collection to the leaders in
Jerusalem.
